Your privacy, explained plainly.

Why we collect your email

We use your email only to deliver the Shanghai City Drop, the China Ready item or the personalized-plan follow-up you explicitly request, and to invite you to a relevant research interview. We do not sell your email or add it to an unrelated newsletter.

What else we collect

We may collect country, intended travel window, planning stage, route preference, page interactions and source/content identifiers. Analytics records exclude the email address and free-text responses.

Consent and withdrawal

The required form checkbox covers only your requested email follow-up. Optional analytics is a separate choice: declining it does not prevent you from browsing or submitting a request. To unsubscribe, email privacy@gochinamate.com from the address you used. Requests are handled manually by the Founder; an automatic unsubscribe service is not currently provided.

Optional analytics controls

Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics” in the controls at the bottom of each page. Allowing it starts collection from that point, not a replay of earlier actions. Choose “Decline / withdraw” there to stop new collection and clear this browser's local analytics identifiers, attribution and event cache. A request already sent cannot be recalled; withdrawal does not automatically delete records already held by a provider. Contact us for a deletion request.

Your analytics choice is saved in this browser for up to 90 days and checked on page load. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice may not persist between pages. Different browsers and devices have separate choices. Declining analytics does not withdraw an email request, and unsubscribing from email does not change your browser's analytics choice.

Where requested data goes

Consented email requests are sent to Formspree, and notifications are delivered to the Founder's Gmail inbox. Cloudflare forwards messages sent to our branded contact addresses. If you separately allow analytics, interaction events and browser-generated identifiers are sent to the configured US PostHog endpoint. We do not include your email in these analytics event payloads. These services also receive connection information necessary to handle requests; browser-generated identifiers do not make the data completely anonymous.

Retention

Lead data will be kept for no more than 90 days after the validation cycle ends, unless you request earlier deletion or separately consent to a continuing service. Aggregated, non-identifying experiment results may be retained.

Paid resources

Paid resources and package selection are currently unavailable. No payment is taken, no booking is made, no product is represented as available, and no spot is guaranteed. If an Early Access pilot opens, you may be invited and can decide again.
